Imagine yourself in the exotic beautiful city of Yangon, Myanmar (Burma). You are standing on the shore of famed royal lake Kandawgyi with the Shwedagon Pagoda filling the horizon, before you the sun glimmering off the golden surface. As you turn and say hello in Burmese, you are quickly the center of attention and surrounded by smiling faces, the people amazed by your mastery of the Burmese language even though youve used only a few common phrases to break the ice.

------
iBurmese is the first ever app for iPhone and iPod Touch providing common useful Burmese language phrases, both spoken and in Burmese language script. Burmese is the spoken language of the southeastern Asian country Myanmar (previously known as Burma).

Features:
+ Quickly scroll or search through provided Burmese phrases.
+ Play back audio of authentic Burmese speech for each phrase.
+ Provides easy to read English transliterations, which is how to pronounce the Burmese described with English characters.
+ No special Phonetics knowledge required.
+ Works without network or cell phone signal.

Special Feature:
By simply rotating the display while viewing a phrase, the burmese script will be displayed full screen in large print.   This can be used as an alternative communication method, or for communicating without making a sound (e.g. during a performance).

Pros and cons of iBurmese app for iPhone and iPad

iBurmese app good for

Please Apple , allow burmese keyboard, i need to write in burmese font, thank you for this software even if it is not useful for me, I am only happy to have a burmese software on my ipod
hi I like your appli. but it miss a dictionary. and a translator definitely! thank you Yann
This is a pretty great app!! They have all the basic sentences at a low price , and you can hear the pronounciation!! If youre not familiar with Burmese and youre going then I would suggest this app.
I took an earlier version in country. It proved to be a useful amusement and helpful in learning the available phrases. The words "oxcart traffic jam" should be added.
It is awesome. I am burmese and I am from Rangoon. The voice is a real burmese person, not a machine. We need more phrases. Can you add them? Who ever made this application is a hero and I am really proud of it. I live in the USA and I am using this application for my American Wife. Maybe later I will use it for my half burmese-american babies :)
Excellent app. Its way better than carrying a book on Burmese language while on travel. I like the authentic audio of phrases.

Some bad moments

I have many other language apps, and Im very dissapointed how small the library of phrases is for this Burmese "translator". Especially considering this is a paid app, it should be quite a bit more subastancial- considering also that its alsmot 5 megabytes. This should be 99 cents to free. Hoping for more content soon as I have many Burmese speaking coworkers and this just isnt useful enough. Even another 50 phrases will do.
This not a dictionary. It is just a very very small list of selected Burmese phrases. I would not purchase again, no depth.
Locks up nearly each time used. Needs a great deal of work. When it works it is useful.
I find it difficult to believe that the Burmese have no word(s) for "Im sorry." After checking for other words and phrases without success, I regret purchasing this app
...an update. The small amount of phrases makes it kind of useless. Gets 2 * because I like the interface.
This is a basic starter app showing you some common phrases. It works well. It just does not have a lot to offer. $3 seems too much for too little. Compared to duolingo, this has much less capability. Duolingo is free and does so much more. Duolingo fails to provide Burmese... So here we are. Some screens show super tiny Burmese font. Some show huge font.
